Frequently Asked Questions
FAQ on Certified Translation & Notarisation
We receive calls and emails from customers daily about certified translation, notarisation, SDS translation, pricing, and turnaround. Answers to the questions we hear most are organised below by topic.
Notarisation, Legalisation & Attestation
Adakah saya memerlukan perakuan oleh notari untuk terjemahan diperakui?
Sometimes. Notarisation may be required when the receiver needs additional authentication of the certification statement. Requirements vary by embassy, institution, and country. Share your submission requirements and we will advise.
What is the difference between notarisation and legalisation?
Notarisation confirms the identity of the signer in front of a notary public. Legalisation or attestation is often a follow-on authentication step by an embassy or a government authority, depending on the destination country.
Can you help with MOFA attestation or embassy legalisation?
We can advise on typical pathways and what documents are needed, and we can help you prepare the translation and supporting paperwork. Final steps are handled by the relevant notary, embassy, or government office.
What should I prepare if my documents are going overseas?
Tell us the destination country and the receiving institution. You may need certified translation, notarisation, and in some cases further attestation or embassy legalisation. We will outline the steps that commonly apply.
SDS Translation (SDS / MSDS)
Do you offer SDS translation services in Malaysia?
Yes. We translate Safety Data Sheets (SDS / MSDS) for manufacturers, importers, and distributors. We support Bahasa Melayu and 30+ other languages.
Can you translate SDS to Bahasa Melayu?
Yes. We provide SDS translation to Bahasa Melayu. If you are preparing bilingual SDS, share your target market and any preferred terminology so we can maintain consistency.
Can you translate SDS into multiple languages for export?
Yes. Multi-language SDS projects are common for export markets. We can also build a glossary so hazard statements and PPE terminology stay consistent across languages.
Apakah format SDS yang anda gunakan?
Editable files such as Word or Excel are best. We can work from PDFs too, but editable sources help preserve SDS structure and reduce reformatting time.
What are common SDS translation mistakes?
Common issues include inconsistent translations of hazard statements, errors in PPE terms, broken SDS section structure, and unclear wording in handling or first-aid sections. Our process includes terminology checks to reduce these risks.
Bolehkah saya menggunakan alat AI untuk terjemahan SDS?
AI tools can help for informal drafts, but SDS is compliance-focused and terminology-sensitive. Professional human translation is recommended to reduce risk and maintain consistent wording.
Pricing, Turnaround & Process
How much does translation cost?
Pricing depends on word count, language pair, subject complexity, formatting, and deadline. As a guide, project rates can start from around RM0.30 per word for some language pairs. We will confirm a clear quote before starting.
Is there a minimum charge?
A minimum charge may apply for very small projects to cover project management and production time. If your document is short, we will explain pricing clearly during quoting.
Berapa lamakah masa yang diambil untuk menyiapkan satu terjemahan?
Turnaround depends on length, complexity, and language pair. Many standard documents can be delivered within 24 to 48 hours, subject to workload. We confirm timelines in your quote.
Do you offer urgent 24-hour translation?
Urgent delivery may be available for selected language pairs and document types. Send your files and deadline and we will confirm what is realistic.
How do I request a quote?
Use the Get a Quote form and upload your files. If email is easier, send your documents to email@omni-translation.com. Tell us your target language, deadline, and intended use.
How do I place an order and make payment?
After you approve the quote, we will confirm payment options and start once payment is received or an agreed billing arrangement is in place.
What file formats do you accept?
We accept common formats including PDF, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and images. Editable files help preserve layout.
Can you keep my formatting and layout?
Yes. If you provide editable source files, we can usually preserve layout. For scans or images, we apply clean formatting and include all visible text.
Do you provide revisions?
Yes. Reasonable revisions are available if you need minor wording or formatting adjustments after delivery.
How do you keep documents confidential?
Your files are handled confidentially. Access is limited to your project team, and NDAs can be signed when required.
