In Malaysia, a certified translation is only officially recognised when endorsed by Institut Terjemahan & Buku Malaysia (ITBM), the Malaysian Translators Association (MTA), or a Court-appointed translator.
Certification means the translated document is rubber-stamped or embossed on each page with an official seal from one of these bodies, alongside a signed statement confirming the translation is accurate and complete.
Important: A translator’s personal stamp or a generic translation agency seal is not sufficient on its own. Authorities including ICA Singapore, foreign embassies, and Malaysian courts will reject certifications that are not backed by ITBM, MTA, or Court endorsement.
